Cordova Studio transformed this historical 1914 Italian Renaissance estate in the Windsor Square neighborhood of Los Angeles. The process involved taking this home down to the studs, and lifting it up to the sky (we add a 4,000 sq. ft basement below the existing home). The aim was to make this historic home more livable for the 21st century. By raising the ceilings to their maximum possible height, preserved the formal staircase, historical windows and doors, and restoring the hundred year old living room cast stone fireplace we were able to strip away all of the noise added over the years and allow the original architecture and craftsmanship to shine through.
Cordova Studio transformed this 1920’s Italian Tudor styled home located in the Windsor Square neighborhood of Los Angeles.
This project was completed while Daniel was the Director of Interiors at Kerry Joyce Associates, a position he held for 8 years, from 2008 through 2016. The unit was purchased “turn-key” from the developer and our goal was to strip it down to the bones and build it back up again, transforming it into a layered and comfortable Pied-a-Terre for these longtime clients. We redesigned the layout of the space, creating a formal foyer, a comfortable living area, a paneled library, a formal powder room (which doubles as a second full bathroom - a secret shower is hidden behind the mahogany panels to the right of the sink), and proper master suite. The addition of classically styled plaster moldings and wood paneling throughout the unit helped restore the space from a trendy developers creation back to a classical New York apartment.
Cordova Studio furnished this home, located in the Fremont Place neighborhood of Los Angeles, for a young couple with two high-energy toddlers. Our aim was to provide a durable, yet comfortable interior that could stand up to the boys and yet still be sophisticated enough to entertain the couples many friends. We layered the space with custom millwork, and comfortable furniture with a nod to the mid-century aesthetic.
Cordova Studio reimagined this family home located in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles after a minor flood convinced the clients it was time for an over-all refresher. By the time we finished the space, we had given these wonderful clients 7 brand new bathrooms, a completely reimagined master closet for both him and her, a spa-grade master bathroom, and a custom designed chef’s quality kitchen. We also refreshed the existing fireplaces, opting for custom plaster mantles to replace the originals that were damaged beyond repair.
Cordova Studio created a light and bright home tucked away at the very top of the hollywood hills just off of mullholland drive. We curated the space around the artwork that the the client, a prolific TV director, had collected over years of travel.
