Cordova Studio transformed this historical 1914 Italian Renaissance estate in the Windsor Square neighborhood of Los Angeles. The process involved taking this home down to the studs, and lifting it up to the sky (we add a 4,000 sq. ft basement below the existing home). The aim was to make this historic home more livable for the 21st century. By raising the ceilings to their maximum possible height, preserved the formal staircase, historical windows and doors, and restoring the hundred year old living room cast stone fireplace we were able to strip away all of the noise added over the years and allow the original architecture and craftsmanship to shine through.
